Skip Counting & Times Tables — maths practice kids ask to play 🧮

Skip counting — 2, 4, 6, 8… — is how children first feel the rhythm of multiplication. In New Zealand and Australian classrooms it's a core Year 1–3 skill, and it's the exact bridge to the 2×, 5× and 10× times tables. TapaType turns it into a typing game: the sequence appears one number at a time, a real voice says each number aloud, and your child types it digit by digit to earn stars.

The Counting game — three levels

🐣 Teen numbers 10–20  ·  🐥 Tens to 100  ·  🦉 Skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s

Level 3 serves real sequences in order — 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 — so the pattern sinks in the way teachers intend, not as random numbers.

The Maths Facts game — from counting to tables

🐣 Addition to 10  ·  🐥 Addition to 20  ·  🦉 2×, 5× and 10× times tables

The equation shows big on screen — 5 × 4 = — and is read aloud ("Five… times… four"), but the answer stays hidden behind a ? box. Your child works it out and types it. Right answers fill the box green with a cheer; wrong keys just give a gentle shake and another go.

Why typing the answer beats multiple choice

Counting and Maths Facts are two of 14 free games in TapaType — alongside heart words, phonics word families and letter tracing. Everything runs in the browser, installs like an app, works offline, and collects no data whatsoever (privacy policy).
